West Springfield Street To Close For Bridge Work

Starting Wednesday, July 3, Mt. Vernon Street west of Kansas Expressway will be closed for three months for construction to replace the Mt. Vernon Street bridge over Jordan Creek.

According to the City of Springfield, the Mt. Vernon Bridge Replacement Project will be partially funded through the federal On-System Bridge Program, with the remaining portion funded through reimbursement funds from the Missouri Department of Transportation received from a previous project.
