Indigenous land rights in Australia

Throughout the world, indigenous people are fighting for the right to reclaim land they lost due to European territorial expansion, colonialism, or to other means. One place where this debate has been ongoing is Australia. There, Aboriginal peoples and other indigenous people have fought for years to advance their native land claims — with resistance from the government and mining and energy companies.
