Two recent levee breaches in northwest Missouri have raised concerns about flooding in the region.

A breach in the Squaw Creek levee in central Holt County has flooded acres of farmland and another breach late last week along Squaw Creek closed sections of U.S. Highway 59 and Interstate 29.

Holt County Sheriff Scott Wedlock said no homes are threatened, but additional rain could create more problems.

He said the Missouri State Highway Patrol has helped evaluate the breaches.

In 2010 and 2011, floods hit Holt County homes, infrastructure and campgrounds.
