Thunderstorms will move into southwest Missouri and northern Arkansas late Tuesday.  Justin Titus, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Springfield, said some could be severe.

"For the Springfield area, we're looking at more mid to late evening, say, somewhere around 8 p.m. give or take," said Titus.  "With these storms, we'll be looking at the potential for hail up to the size of golf balls and damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, and we can't rule out an isolated tornado, but we're not expecting a big tornado threat today."

The main threat for severe storms is expected to be before 11 p.m.
