The search for a new superintendent for Springfield Public Schools is underway, and district officials want to know what you would like to see in a new leader.
SPS is hosting a series of community input sessions this week, and there are in-person and virtual options.
Representatives from GR Recruiting, the search firm hired to lead the search, will facilitate the meetings.
They will be held Thursday, November 17, at 2, 4 and 7 p.m. in Conference Rooms A & B at the Kraft Administrative Center, 1359 E. St. Louis. A virtual meeting will be held via Zoom at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Meetings will also be held Friday, November 18, at 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. via Zoom and at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon at the Kraft Administrative Center.
Online surveys will also be available for staff, students and parents.
Dr. John Jungmann has led SPS for seven years and will retire at the end of this school year.
More information about the meetings is at sps.org.
