Missouri River Relief is an organization committed to cleaning up and preserving the Missouri River and its surrounding communities.
On Oct. 15, the organization partnered with Job Point's YouthBuild to lead a day of service and fun.
The festivities consisted of a trip down the river to collect waste and leading a catfishing crew. The group helped pull a refrigerator out of the river.
"One of the main things we want to do today is for students to be able walk away with a wonderful memory of spending time outside," said Kristen Schulte, education director for Missouri River Relief.
Debbie Njai from Black People Who Hike and Christopher Kennedy from the Missouri Department of Conservation were among the people who joined the event to work with the youth from Job Point.
