For Loretta Moss, no work was as stable or as satisfying than that of a postal carrier.
Her grandpa, uncle, father and mother were all postal carriers at one time or another. When a part-time job at the Vandalia Post Office became available nearly twenty-two years ago, Moss believed it would be the best possible opportunity. Over the years she has found that her favorite part of the job was the contact she had with the people on her route. Unfortunately, Moss was required to retire from the postal service in September due to her prognosis of stage 4-breast cancer. She says if it weren’t for her cancer she would still be delivering mail.
