Columbia’s Disabilities Commission and several disability-related organizations are hosting a Disability Issues Forum Thursday morning at Woodhaven in Columbia, Missouri.
Chuck Graham, the Chair of Columbia Disability Commission, said there will be a variety of issues addressed by candidates at the forum.
“I think it is important for voters and voters with disabilities to get a chance to meet the people that are running for office,” said Graham. “They are not always able to get those kind of answers from candidates’ TV ads or mailer drops in their mailbox.”
Graham said the Disabilities Commission and its partners plan to host similar forums in future elections, including next April’s municipal elections, with local candidates running for City Council.
