  • The Missouri House is preparing to take up legislation dealing with state regulations and providing information about schools and county governments on a state website.
  • Demolition work will begin Sunday at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Joplin, the hospital that was virtually destroyed in the May 22 twister.
  • Three Missouri World War Two veterans have received France’s Legion of Honor medal, the highest award given by the French government for service to that country. 
  • A Missouri House panel has endorsed legislation changing the legal standard for proving workplace discrimination and limiting the amount of damages victims could recover in lawsuits.

Scarlett Robertson joined KBIA as a producer in February 2011. She studied psychology at Lake Forest College and holds a masters degree in journalism from Syracuse University. Scarlett began her professional career in psychology, jumped to magazines and then came to her senses and shifted to public radio. She has contributed to NPR member stations WAER in Syracuse, KUT in Austin and Chicago’s WBEZ.
