MU Health Care Announces Visitation Restrictions Due to Rise in COVID Cases Across State

The University of Missouri Health Care system announced Tuesday it will again be restricting visitations in many of its facilities due to the continued increase in COVID cases across the state.

Patients at University Hospital and Women’s & Children’s Hospital will be allowed one visitor from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All parents will be allowed for pediatric patients. Those giving birth will be allowed their partner, as well as their labor coach.

There will be no visitations for adults diagnosed with COVID-19, and one parent will be allowed for children who test positive.

MU Health Care said in a news release that Zoom and FaceTime will continue to be provided so that family and friends can stay in contact.

There are currently 427 active COVID cases in Boone County. Ninety people are hospitalized, but only 21 of those are Boone County residents.

At this time, the county's hospital status remains at “yellow,” meaning hospitals are still operating within capacity, but may need to delay non-emergency care.
