Segment 1, beginning at 4:11: Lawyer turned activist Stacy Shaw is calls for abolishing the police force.

Shaw began to lead Black Lives Matter protests in Kansas City following the killing of George Floyd. She discussed recent Kansas City demonstrations following the Kentucky attorney general's announcement that none of the officers involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor would be charged with her death.


Segment 2, beginning at 28:25: A local grocery store chain with a focus on reducing food insecurity opens a new location.

Popular Lawrence grocer The Merc Co-op recently opened its second location, in Kansas City, Kansas. The company adapted it's newest location to serve the local community, and offers employees a living wage and benefits.


Segment 3, beginning at 45:35: Oktoberfest fans now have the chance to bring the celebration home.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, KC Bier Co. is offering "Prost in Place" kits complete with German-style beer, mugs, a giant pretzel, and a Spotify playlist of traditional German music.
