The Republican-controlled Missouri Legislature has sent several small tweaks to the state's tax code to Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon this session.
Sen. Will Kraus, of Lee's Summit, said Wednesday it had been a successful session in limiting overreach by the state's Department of Revenue.
Last year, Nixon vetoed several large bills that included costly provisions that did not cross the finish line this session after legislation stalled in the Senate in the final week.
Nixon criticized exemptions for commercial laundries, gyms and yoga studios, and food preparation at grocery stores, as special interest giveaways.
Of those, only the exemption for commercial laundries got to his desk again.
A measure to require notification of businesses when there's a change in tax policy also will get a second shot at becoming law.
