The number of COVID-19 cases so far in Missouri has topped 18,000. As of Sunday, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services had recorded 18,003 cases—up 413 from the day before. That’s the state’s biggest one-day jump in cases since the pandemic began. The previous biggest jump was Saturday with 389 cases. There have been 956 deaths from COVID-19 in Missouri.
Barton County saw the biggest seven-day increase. Seven days ago there were two cases in the county, and Sunday that number was up to 15.
Newton County saw a nearly 79 percent increase in cases from a week ago and Jasper County had a 74 percent jump in cases. McDonald County was up nearly 68 percent from seven days ago.
