Seg. 1: Change Gun Control Focus | Seg. 2: Actor Nathan Darrow

Segment 1: Gun policy specialist says the gun control debate needs to shift.

In his book "Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America," constitutional law specialist Adam Winkler examines how Americans approach the gun control debate. He explained the need to concentrate on ending everyday gun violence rather than mass shootings, and says gun rights and gun control are not mutually exclusive.

  • Adam Winkler, professor of law, UCLA

Segment 2, beginning at 26:17: Nathan Darrow offers his perspective on acting in an American classic.

Kansas City, Missouri, native Nathan Darrow recalls the enchanting experience he had as a teenager watching actors on the Kansas City Repertory Theatre stage. "I think I got a feeling of what it can do, what acting can do," he remembers. He now finds himself performing on that very stage, with a starring role in Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."

"We the Corporations: How American Businesses Won Their Civil Rights" with Adam Winkler, 12 p.m. Friday, September 13, at the Charles Evans Whittaker Courthouse, 400 E. 9th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64106. To register, contact Johnathon Bish at (816)512-5010.
