Seg. 1: KCPS Data Anaylsis | Seg. 2: Gloria Squitiro

Segment 1: New data analysis of Kansas City's public school environment.

A new analysis shows public and charter schools in Kansas City are more segregated, more expensive to operate, and more complicated than they were 20 years ago. We talked with two officials behind the report about these issues and others, and discussed possible solutions.

  • Linda Quinley, chief financial officer for Kansas City Public Schools
  • Mike Reynolds, chief of research and assessment for Kansas City Public Schools

Segment 2, beginning at 20:14: Kansas City's former first lady relives her time at City Hall.

Gloria Squitiro endured criticism and controversy during her husband's four years as mayor, and her three-part memoir promises to parse through it. She discussed the lead-up to Mark Funkhauser's successful mayoral bid and how her role in the campaign office came about.

Gloria Squitiro will sign copies of her book from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, May 18 at Barnes and Noble, 4751 W. 117th St., Leawood, Kansas 66211. For more information, go to GloriaSquitiro.com.
