Seg. 1: Building Unaffordable Cities | Seg. 2: Vocalist Luciana Souza

Segment 1: "Our infrastructure isn't an asset, it's a liability," said architect Dennis Strait.

In recent years many cities, including our own, have become seemingly unaffordable, not just for the people responsible for running and operating them, but for those who live and work in them as well. So what can be done to make Kansas City a more budget-friendly place?

Segment 2, beginning at 27:46: How one musician mixes ancient art forms to create a stunning jazz repertoire.

"The Book of Longing," Luciana Souza's latest album, beautifully melds music with poetry from the likes of Emily Dickinson, Edna St. Vincent Millay and Leonard Cohen. Today, Souza shared how her upbringing and musical heritage influenced her journey into jazz stardom.

  • Luciana Souza, Grammy-winning jazz vocalist
