Governor Mike Parson | Governor Laura Kelly | Truman Medical Center | Kansas City Mime

Segment 1: Missouri governor on slowing the spread and lifting restrictions

Governor Mike Parson announced that some businesses could begin reopening on May 4th. Parson acknowledged there are still challenges ahead, including the production of materials for adequate testing throughout the state.

Segment 2: Kansas governor on unemployment claims and coronavirus testing

Governor Laura Kelly said the state's outdated computer system has complicated processing of unemployment claims for out-of-work Kansans. Kelly said she hasn't made up her mind about extending her stay-at-home order past May 3rd, pointing out that testing must be more readily available.

Segment 3: Medical center executive says hospitals can adapt to meet a potential surge of COVID-19 cases

It seems as though Kansas Citians have done their part to flatten the curve, as the city's hospital bed capacity has not yet been maxed out. The CEO of Truman Medical Center says if an increase, or even a second wave, of COVID-19 cases materializes, his facility is ready.
