MU Extension Receives $1.1 Million Grant

MU Extension has received $1.1 million in federal grants to help manufacturing businesses affected by the competition in the global market, according to a U.S. Department of Commerce news release.

Jeannine Goodrich — the project manager of Mid-America Trade Adjustment Assistance Center, the part of MU Extension that received the grant — said the money is intended to help businesses' competitiveness. 

"The grant would pay for a wide variety of operational improvement projects, like engineering training, market research," Goodrich said. 

The center also helps businesses develop products, build websites and train employees.
