More than 40 employers are looking to recruit job seekers at a major hiring event in Springfield on Tuesday.

The Springfield Career Center is hosting a multi-Industry hiring event and a skills training fair on Tuesday, January 22.

The event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Career Center at 2900 E. Sunshine.

Katherine Trombetta, spokesperson for the career center, says the event is open to people of all ages and education backgrounds.

“This event is actually geared toward job seekers. Those people that find themselves unemployed or maybe under-employed and want to find a job that’s higher paying.”

Trombetta said employers who will be at the event are from a multitude of different industries including healthcare and education.

“Companies have multiple job openings at this time and so they’re looking to fill both entry level and some upper level type positions.”

The Skill Up information fair will help those looking to get training for a specific field and how they can get scholarships if they qualify.
