Child Dies, Grandfather Injured In Southwest Missouri Fire

ROGERSVILLE, Mo. (AP) — The state fire marshal is investigating after a fire in southwest Missouri killed a child and injured the child's grandfather.

Logan-Rogersville Fire Chief Richard Stirts said the blaze was reported Monday afternoon near Rogersville. He said the child, who was younger than 5, died in the fire.

The grandfather suffered serious burns. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
