State Auditor Nicole Galloway says her office has begun audits of the county collector’s offices in Greene and Stone Counties.
New collectors have been appointed in both counties, and state law requires an audit be performed when there’s a vacancy in a county collector’s office.
Galloway is asking Greene or Stone County residents with feedback that may be helpful to the audits to contact her office. The State Auditor’s Whistleblower Hotline is 800-347-8597 or email moaudit@auditor.mo.gov. She says the information shared will remain confidential.
