The Springfield-Greene County Health Department and Missouri State University will hold a mass vaccination event on April 8 and 9 at Hammons Student Center. The health department says it hopes it will be the largest single-site vaccination event in Missouri.Calling the mass vaccination a "mega event," a release from the Health Department says it’s aiming to vaccinate 10,000 people over two days, which would be more than 5% of the population of Springfield. There is no out-of-pocket charge for the vaccine. The department asks people to sign up online at covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator. The Hammons Student Center is located at the intersection of Holland and Monroe Street, just behind JQH Arena on the west side of campus.
