Missouri Storms Lead To Widespread Flooding, Road Closures

Flooding has stranded drivers and led to road closures across Missouri.

The Department of Transportation shows road closures stretching across mid-Missouri from Kansas City to St. Louis. KMIZ-TV reports the Jefferson City Fire Department rescued at least a dozen motorists stranded by floods Friday. The National Weather Service expects continued thunderstorms throughout the state could mean more flooding.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Kansas City has warned that there will be flooding along the Missouri River.
