The University of Missouri Board of Curators today unanimously approved the hiring of new athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois to a six-year contract worth $800,000 a year.
Reed-Francois, who previously was the athletic director at UNLV, is expected to start in Columbia on August 15 with an annual base salary of $550,000 and an additional non-salary compensation of $250,000 for media appearances, marketing events and apparel.
Her contract also includes eligibility for financial incentives up to $150,000 dollars for achieving notable benchmarks with the department as determined by UM System President Mun Choi.
Reed-Francois will be the first woman to head intercollegiate athletics for Mizzou.
President Choi is set to officially introduce her in the new role Wednesday morning.
