Arrest made after 18-year-old shot to death in Columbia

Columbia police say a suspect is in custody after an 18-year-old man was shot to death.

Officers found Roberto Angel Lauer dead from a gunshot wound at a northeast Columbia home on Monday night. Police say another 18-year-old Columbia man has been arrested on possible charges of involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action.

Lauer was a senior at Battle High School in Columbia. A district spokeswoman says the suspect was not a student in the Columbia public schools.
