Thinking Out Loud: Roots N Blues preview featuring The Flood Brothers

Facebook/The Flood Brothers

This weekend Columbia's Stephen's Lake Park plays host to the eighth annual Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival. Festival Director Julie King told KBIA's Darren Hellwege to look forward to artists like John Prine, the Avett Brothers and Amos Lee. King also suggested festival-goers check out up-and-coming act Lake Street Dive performing Saturday at 4:15pm.

King talked with Darren Hellwege about the festival's focus on local acts as well as national touring artists. "We are a local festival so we really want to shine a spotlight on local artists as well. They are important to the Columbia culture," said King.

One example of local talent on stage at the festival this weekend? The Flood Brothers perform at the festival this Friday at 5:00 p.m. The Flood Brothers performed 'Storm Cloud' in the KBIA studios. The song is featured in this episode
