Thinking Out Loud: Celebrating Ten Years

For over ten years, Thinking Out Loud has been a staple heard at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday on KBIA. On this week's episode, producer Darren Hellwege shares selections from a decade of music and poetry performance as heard on Thinking Out Loud.

Music featured on this week's Thinking Out Loud includes the folk harmonies Leela and Ellie Grace, acoustic ironies from Bob Runyon and a reading of Walter Bargen's 'Pinko.'

"The Voice Of Columbia," Darren Hellwege has hosted NPR's “Morning Edition” for over 30 years on KBIA, and serves as host/producer of the award-winning “Thinking Out Loud” programs. He also hosts “Vox Humana” on Classical 90.5 FM. Darren is also a marketing representative for KBIA and Classical 90.5, helping businesses connect with their customers using public radio.
Trevor serves as KBIA’s weekday morning host for classical music. He has been involved with local radio since 1990, when he began volunteering as a music and news programmer at KOPN, Columbia's community radio station. Before joining KBIA, Trevor studied social work at Mizzou and earned a masters degree in geography at the University of Alabama. He has worked in community development and in urban and bicycle/pedestrian planning, and recently served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia with his wife, Lisa Groshong. An avid bicycle commuter and jazz fan, Trevor has cycled as far as Colorado and pawed through record bins in three continents.
