Columbia Regional Airport is starting its daily, non-stop service to Atlanta one week from today. The University of Missouri believes the new flight could open up opportunities for future enrollment. MU Senior Associate Director of Admissions Chuck May says the flight offers a direct connection to one of the busiest airports in the world.

“I think any new flights out of Columbia Regional would help not just recruitment for Mizzou but Columbia overall. The more flights we have coming in and out it gives other avenues for students and families to get here for a visit,” May said.

May says the establishment of a flight to Chicago or Dallas in the future would benefit the admissions office greatly, but says Atlanta is a great start. The new non-stop service will start daily on June 7th leaving at 10:10 a.m. and returning 4:15 p.m. This flight will replace the midday flights to Memphis.
