This week, The special project “The China Connection” tells us about a program at the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico. Plus, an audio postcard that introduces you to a family that’s “like any other,” but at the same time different.
Missouri Military Academy in Mexico has long prided itself in creating young leaders, boasting a one hundred percent college acceptance rate for the past decade. This academic year the school has started a Chinese language program, and is considering an exchange program in China. KBIA’s Rachel Rice tells us why the military school is interested in creating connections with China.
Sue Wilson says her family is “just like any other American family,” in her words. The family of four is almost always on the go—basketball games, ballet recitals and so on. But for her two sons, Josh and Ryan, sports have opened up a world that once seemed closed to them. KBIA’s Nick Gass has an audio postcard.
This story is part of The China Connection, a multimedia project that explores various economic, educational and cultural links between Missouri and China.
