Columbia Independent School names new director

The Columbia Independent School recently added new leadership to their staff.Columbia Independent School has appointed Diane Bruckerhoff as the new Director of the Upper and Lower divisions.  Bruckerhoff recently announced her retirement as Assistant Principle of Rock Bridge High School, but says she didn’t want to call it quits just yet.

“I think you get to that point of your career where you know you want a new challenge and I was not ready to not be doing anything so I felt it was very important for me to have a position where I could continue to hopefully use my educational experience,” Bruckerhoff said.

The previous director took a new position in Illinois, but CIS Head Director, Charles McClain says he has no doubt that she is the right fit for the job.

“Well she’s coming in with a fresh face and a lot of vigor and replacing a person that has done a wonderful job and she will build on the strengths that he has left and give leadership and energy to the future,” McClain said.

Bruckerhoff will start her new position this summer in advance of the upcoming school year.
