Lincoln University's next president talks about goals

North Carolina Central University

The administrator recently named as Lincoln University’s new president says more funding and national recognition are two key goals he has for the university.

Last month, Lincoln University named Dr. Kevin Rome as its new president.  At Lincoln’s Founder’s Day ceremony Thursday, he expressed high hopes for the school.  He said one of his goals is to secure more funding.

“The thing that we have to tell the legislators in the state of Missouri is the best is yet to come from Lincoln University,” said Rome.

And, Rome hopes that Lincoln will gain national attention in the coming years.

“Maybe we were once the Harvard of the Midwest, but maybe we will be the Harvard of the United States.”

Rome will take over as President of Lincoln in June.
