Lakeview Energy to Open New Biofuel Operation in Moberly

Lakeview Energy, LLC is expanding its biofuel operations to Moberly.  After announcing its purchase of the former biodiesel plant at 607 West Fowler Road last week, Lakeview has already begun upgrades to the facility.

According to Lakeview Chief Operations Officer and Director Eamonn Byrne, the company plans to begin biofuel production at its new location in December.  Moberly was an obvious choice for Lakeview due to the city’s previous experience in the industry.

“Moberly was an existing biodiesel plant that had been shut down and gone out of business. And it was brought to our attention so we purchased it to restart it,” stated Byrne. The Chicago based company has investments in biofuel, agribusiness and wind energy.

Moberly’s facility will be used to produce biofuels that are blended into gasoline to meet the biofuel standards. Nineteen operating positions will be created at the plant including maintenance manager, plant manager, production manager and plant operators.  Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation Vice President David Gaines says the investment will make the facility a valuable producing plant for some time to come.

“Lakeview Energy is a well-established company in the biofuels industry operating a couple other facilities in the Midwest and we are excited to have their investments in the community,” said Gaines.
