Lennon, Dietzel Win County Races

Democrat Brianna Lennon, won the office of Boone County Clerk among other local candidates. Last night, Lennon won with 5% more votes than the incumbent, Taylor Burks. She says she’s eager to get to work on the process of purchasing new voting machines for Boone County and upholding the integrity of elections.

“My biggest priority is doing everything I can to make sure that I fulfill the promises that I talked about, on simple, accessible and secure elections,” Lennon said.

Lennon previously ran for Boone County Southern District Commissioner.

Nora Dietzel, the Incumbent Democrat Boone County Recorder of Deeds held off Republican challenger Lisa Ballenger in a rematch from 2014 last night, she held her seat with 56% of the vote. Last time, she defeated Ballenger by just 495 votes. Dietzel said she was confident her message would resonate.

“I felt pretty optimistic going into tonight, I had a lot of good support and good response to my campaign which was a very positive campaign,” Dietzel said.
