Columbia Regional Airport will receive a $2.8 million grant to extend a runway, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.
The grant is a part of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP), according to a department news release. It is unclear which runway will be extended.
The temporary closure of one runway in April to remove a "bump" sparked the cancellation of several flights.
