The first set of grants through the CARES Act Relief Fund in Greene County is going to recipients.

The Greene County Commission says nearly four million-nine-hundred-thousand dollars has been approved.

$75,000 will go to Community Partnership of the Ozarks to house homeless individuals in local motels. The Vision Rehab Center will get $7,400 for exams and eye glasses for seniors and infants with medical needs.  The Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation will receive just over $1300 for PPE and supplies related to COVID-19.  Be a Jewel has been awarded $7273 for assistance for foster grandparents.  And, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department will get $4 million for reimbursement of frontline COVID-19 expenses, including contact tracing.

According to the Greene County Commission, the CARES Act Citizens Advisory Committee, a 30 member volunteer group that was created July 21, is meeting virtually in subcommittees to review applications by categories.
