Two MU urgent care facilities will merge into one new location to increase the availability of medical care in Columbia, beginning June 1, MU officials said.

Pediatric Urgent Care, currently at the MU Women’s and Children’s Hospital at 404 N. Keene St., and Mizzou Urgent Care, currently at 551 E. Southampton Drive, will merge into a new location.

The new urgent care facility will be located at 3916 S. Providence Road and is scheduled to open June 1, the same day the other facilities close, said MU Health Care spokeswoman Jennifer Horton.

The move will double the number of Mizzou Urgent Care exam rooms. Currently, Mizzou Urgent Care has six rooms. At the new facility, there will be 12 rooms, with four specializing in pediatric urgent care.
