MU Title IX Advocates Forced Out of University Positions

Two staff members in MU's Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center — victim advocate Taylor Yeagle and center coordinator Danica Wolf — were forced out of their roles after the Columbia Daily Tribune interviewed Yeagle about MU's treatment of Title IX cases, according to reporting by the Tribune.

Yeagle and Wolf were given two options in May 2018: resign and receive a month of salary and benefits, or potentially be fired and receive nothing, according to the Tribune's story.

After the Tribune emailed Yeagle to double-check her quotes for its stories on MU's handling of Title IX cases, those quotes were sent to her and Wolf's superiors, where they were told the interview should not have been allowed, according to the Tribune.

However, Yeagle spoke only of specific instances where the process had failed her clients, and the student whose case she referenced, Kelli Wilson, had signed a university waiver that allowed Yeagle to disclose that information.
