One of the big buzz words in agriculture today is “sustainability.” It’s all about making sure natural resources are not depleted or permanently damaged so that we can farm into the future. But how do you best do this and who’s really making the commitment for the long-term? In part three of the Harvest Public Media series “Farmer of the Future,” Jessica Naudziunas reports that as more farmers embrace the idea of “sustainability", their open-ended definitions will help shape the next generation of farming.
Also, Michael Pollan considers himself a writer, a professor and eater. The author of books like The Ominvore’s Dilemma and In Defense of Food, Pollan is known for his vivid critiques of industrial agriculture and the modern American diet.
