A water main break in Centralia closed schools and some restaurants today. The water service was restored, but department crews have been working on repairs since yesterday.

According to Centralia Police Chief Larry Dudgeon, the city administrator put the city under a boil order until Tuesday at midnight.

"We’re a small community, most folks understand and were cooperative with us,” said Dudgeon.

The reason for the water main break is unknown, but since the service is back in order now, Dudgeon said the city is not going to investigate further.
