Termination Of Parental Rights In Missouri | Best Outdoor Dining

Segment 1, beginning at 1:00: When it comes to whether the Missouri Department of Social Services will terminate parental rights, there are things that seem to work systematically against you — being a person of color, being an immigrant or being poor.

In the case of Samantha Mungai, the issues of racial justice, immigration law, economic inequity and an overburdened child welfare system combined to create what turned out to be insurmountable obstacles for the single mother.
