Missouri Medicaid Expansion | Kansas Legislative Roundup

Segment 1, beginning at 00:59: Last August, Missourians approved the constitutional amendment that would give up to 250,000 residents access to government health insurance.

Now, expansion is in doubt as Republicans in Missouri's House have passed a budget that does not include money for that program. Hear one House Democrat's response to her fellow lawmakers' votes.

Segment 2, beginning at 24:51: The Kansas legislature has been debating a number of bills recently including tax cuts and legalizing medical marijuana — with substantial restrictions.

As policy gets fleshed out in the legislature, State Senate Majority Leader Gene Suellentrop (R - Wichita) faces backlash after being charged with DUI and evading police. Two statehouse reporters analyze the latest from Topeka.
