'Troost Village' Development | Museums During A Pandemic

Segment 1, beginning at 00:44: A potentially transformational project is underway on Troost Avenue.

If fully realized, Troost Village would include six renovation projects, increased parking, and a number of recreational venues. Involving a stretch of historic buildings between Linwood Ave. and 31st Street, the plan would revitalize a section of Troost that was once a bustling commercial district in Kansas City. The developers say restaurant, retail and office space tenants will be 70 percent not-for-profit or minority organizations and 15 percent of those will be female minority entities.

Segment 2, beginning at 28:17: Museums have made creative adjustments to continue operating during the coronavirus pandemic.

Since March of 2020, museums in the Kansas City area have managed closures, virtual exhibits, and financial issues among their operational struggles. Three directors offer updates on what's been done to keep their museums available to the public.
