Columbia Regional Airport and American Airlines announced Wednesday they are adding another daily nonstop flight between Columbia Regional Airport and Chicago O’Hare.

The new flights will begin on April 2. American Flight 3376 will take off in Columbia at 6:00 a.m. and arrive in Chicago at 7:05 a.m. The returning flight 3737 will head out of Chicago at 6:35 p.m. and return to Columbia at 7:45 p.m.

Columbia Regional Airport Chair Greg Cecil said the new flights are a result of increased demand for transportation to Chicago out of Columbia. Columbia Regional Airport currently has one nonstop between Columbia and Chicago, which has proven not to be enough, according to Cecil.

“Chicago has been one of the top destinations that has been requested for folks in the Columbia and Jefferson City area, and so this is going to be great,” Cecil said.

American Airlines Regional Vice President Dale Morris said the additional flight will be especially for valuable for those conducting business.

"American remains very pleased with our service at Columbia Regional Airport and the tremendous support we've received from the Mid-Missouri community," Morris said. "We are excited to add a second daily flight between Columbia and our Chicago hub, giving customers throughout the region easier access to this important business market and key international gateway."

Pre-booking for American flight 3376 and American flight 3737 is available at AA.com.
