April Ferrao, John Lyman and Paul Harper return to the Columbia School Board for a second term, voters decided Tuesday.

The Columbia School Board’s Finance Committee voted 3-2 Monday to recommend that the full board approve a 29.9% increase in employee health care rates.

The board also introduced a larger budget.

Jeff Klein, the chief academic officer for Columbia Public Schools since July, will be the district's new superintendent.

The board also decided on a new math curriculum and shared that it will announce a new superintendent soon.

Columbians will vote for the future mayor and Third and Fourth Ward representatives in April.

The Columbia School Board unanimously approved changes to attendance area boundaries Monday night that will move nearly 1,500 students to different schools by 2026.

Two of the proposed maps will not impact high school attendance areas.

Voters elected Jeanne Snodgrass and Alvin Cobbins to the Columbia School Board for three-year terms Tuesday night.
