In this month’s “Behind the Issue,” Editor-in-chief Olivia Maillet talks with contributing writer Sophie Ayers about the proposed renovations to Douglass Park’s basketball courts and the community that advocated for preserving its history.

Douglass Park’s courts were the meeting spot of Midnight Hoops, a program designed to create lasting relationships between kids and mentors.

Ayers talks about the main “players” of this program and how they feel about having Douglass Park rebranded. She also touches on Douglass Park’s role in the community over the years.
