Ragtime community comes together to keep the music and its history alive

The music known as Ragtime first swept the nation more than 100 years ago. Missouri, known as the heartland of ragtime, is a big part of the ragtime story. The music is still toe-tapping today but as KBIA finds in this story, in collaboration with Vox Magazine, the music was born out of an oppressive time.
