In2Action Helps People Transform After Incarceration With Help From BCCT
KBIA's Darren Hellwege talks with Dan Hanneken, Executive Director of In2Action, which helps provide transition services to people with substance use disorders, particularly those who've recently been in jail. They discuss how funding from Boone County Community Trust has helped them bring a better life to many Mid-Missourians.

Since their founding in 1988, Cedar Creek has provided therapy through riding and being around horses. Karen discusses the invaluable support the Boone County Community Trust provides them.

High Turnout Wide Margins recently traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for the 2025 summer convening of the Partnership for Large Election Jurisdictions [PLEJ], and spoke with election officials from across the county — and world — about the elections work they are doing in their communities.In this episode, hosts Eric Fey and Brianna Lennon speak with Paul Lux, the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections, and Mark Earley, the Supervisor of Elections in Leon County.They spoke about how the lists of registered voters are already maintained in Florida, and about how the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, or SAVE Act — a proposed piece of federal legislation that would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections — could impact that process.

Using AI for second opinions: “In a matter of seconds, it essentially renders a [breast cancer] risk assessment.”
Dr. Amy Patel is the Medical Director of the Breast Cancer Center at Liberty Hospital outside Kansas City. She spoke about an AI algorithm they use with breast ultrasounds that gives radiologists a data-informed second opinion.

The Center Project is an LGTBQ+ community center in Columbia that serves mid-Missouri. Mel Constantine Miseo is a board member and spoke about the recently announced food share for the holidays — where anyone needing help can come to the Center Project and receive shelf stable foods.

Using AI to improve stroke outcomes in rural Missouri: “We can save your life."
Jason Mayberry is the stroke coordinator for Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri. They began using RapidAI, an AI software, in October 2023 that helps their doctors more quickly assess, diagnose and begin treatment for people experiencing stokes.
